If not then I might have to send it for repairs or cd9 just can't play hybrid sacd. Anybody with cd9 have tried playing hybrid sacd?
The Reference CD 9 is a red book CD player only, so it cannot read the SACD layer on a hybrid disc, it will read the standard red book layer.

As you saw with the other hybrid SACD, you don't need any special setting to play them. The CD9 (and other CD-only players) should just ignore the SACD layer, and play the CD layer on the disc.

The CD-Pro2 transport in the CD9 is usually not sensitive to scratched discs. In the measurements section in Stereophile's review linked above John Atkinson notes that "it offered suberb error correction".

There are many factors and many possible explanations why your CD9 won't play that particular disc. Too bad we can't offer you a clear and specific explanation.

My advice would be to simply avoid buying SACDs and stick with CDs. Or at least not to buy too many SACDs at once, until you know if this is a typical problem, or just specific to this disc.

Do you have another CD player of any type - car, another system, computer CD drive, etc. - you can try that SACD in to make sure that it really is a hybrid SACD and wasn't mislabeled or manufactured incorrectly?

Hey guys, I bought a new hybrid sacd and played with no issues. I guess this one particular hybrid sacd it just won't read. It's ok, is just that one. The rest is fine, thanks again guys!
