Default Modwright phono stage

Anyone have any experience with Modwright's phono stage, either stand alone or card/slot type? Found a used LS100 locally but will need a phono stage. Currently my McIntosh C220 has a MM section but I might like a MM/MC combo for more cartridge flexibility down the road.

Don - I would order the modular phono stage for the LS100 without hesitation. Everything I have heard and read is that it is at the level of a $3k standalone phono-pre. I highly doubt you will find anything that sounds as good at anywhere near the $800 upgrade cost.

I look forward to hearing how you like the LS100/KWA100 pairing - I suspect it will be a substantial upgrade over your C220!

I have the LS100 with the phono stage installed. It is marvelous. Much better than my Audio Research PH-3SE, but not quite as good as my new Parasound JC-3, but close. I did replace the stock JJ tubes with Grade A Psvane tubes from Grant Fidelity, which made a very nice improvement.

Thanks for the welcome! I love my Modwright LS100 preamp. I started with the basic SWL9.0SE, then upgraded to the Signature version, then to my LS100. All the units are just terrific!
