Still with a Mac pre-amp? Have you tried any other changes?

I used my C500T which sounded pretty good, a Pass Labs X20 which was actually just OK. I think I'm going ARC Ref5 SE.

I heard the earlier iteration with Bryston 28Bs once -- stellar.

I totally agree!!! VAC Renaissance MkII into Pass X350.5 sound spectacular with Q3s!

I would love to hear that combo as well. Not sure why I never "discovered" the VAC preamps earlier.
