Jérôme... Remind your wife she needs to wear her watch, if she wants to have a good time!

Jerome, that is great that the watch was returned. Now, try to stay out of the "bad" areas of Chicago so both of you don't lose your watches if you know what I mean In the US, like everywhere else around the world, there are good and bad people..

Of course I did not mean that all americans are angels . But my feeling is that there are more angels in America than in many other places in the world, and I won't mention any name of course.

I think, Jerome, that you are fond of honest and kind people. We (most) all are. But, every country has them. I as as an American, and as a AA member greatly appreciate your compliment, I have met the most honest and kind people in my travels throughout Europe ( but not in Paris ). Wishing you and your family the best of times in your stay here in the USA. Hint to wife- SS bracelet is more travel friendly. Bon Appetit Mon Ami!

Well we Americans have a very fine taste in Watches. We prefer only the very best from Switzerland. I am so sorry your wife's watch did not meet the finders expectations of fine jewelry! I am glad some honest people found it. Most of the time this has been my experience too. And when in France I have always been treated with respect and courtesy. Love the place! Enjoy your visit. Ken

Well, thanks for the kind compliments towards europeans. There are different levels of honesty in some cultures. Believe me, in France, or in many other countries all other the world, bringing back a valuable jewel when someone finds it, is very rare.... I would say that it is something most seen in very disciplined countries, with a strong education and lots of respect for parents : USA, Germany, North euro countries ( Denmark, Sweden...).... Actually it was an SS bracelet. We still don't understand how it has been possible to open by itself...
