Default Took the plunge - Ultra 5s inbound.

I've been on the fence for a few years with regards to anything Stillpoint.
I have never heard them personally nor know any local audiophile who owns them.

So, the dilemma remains; lay down a crap load of money on what essentially is a TWEAK or continue to read the AA posts of owners extolling the virtues of this engineering marvel.

Not one for dipping my toe in the shallow end....I have "cannon balled" it into the abyss of Audio Unknown thanks to my pusher and friend, Ivan.

Full disclosure: I have not mentioned a peep of this particular purchase to the wifey-poo, just yet. No need to hasten the move of my sleeping quarters to the garage whilst Winter is still with us....Spring is a much more pleasant season.

My plan is simple and...true to form, Im "Cannon Balling" it.

Take receipt of the Stillpoints.
Install the Stillpoints.
Re-position (if necessary) the speakers now resting on the Stillpoints.
Listen
Look for goosebumps on my arm.
Acknowledge the positive cost/benefit equation.
Relish - for a moment - in the genius of my plan.
Call down the wifey-poo
Hand her a 8oz glass of her favorite Pinot Grigio
Engage in conversation which allows me to compliment her beauty and charm.
Look for signs the wine is having the desired effect.
Have her listen to her favorite tune(s).
Look for goosebumps on her arm.
Once detected, faintly whisper concurrently my affection for her and the price of the Stillpoints.
Take immediate cover
Look for favorable reaction.
Bring threat level back to Defcon 5.
Once again, relish in the genius of my plan.
Resume listening.
Acknowledge the smile on my face.

Stay tuned.

Hopefully the movie is the same as the book.

Ultra 5’s under my Wilson Sophia 2’s were transformational. You are going to be a happy boy.

Interesting. This plan is one of those that you cannot do a rehearsal because the
second time around your wife will be suspicious, so you can only do it in your head.
Let us know the outcome. When are you getting the Stillpoints?

I've read in some local newspaper that Mark was killed during a domestic violence episode...

Good luck with the plan...several thoughts;

1. You will love the Stillpoints and know what the rest of us are talking about!
2. Add jewelry or day at the spa or shoes to your plan [emoji2] !
3. Do NOT mention the actual price,...they will never understand and accept that true answer LOL!!!

I’m doing the same thing, with stillpoints under nearly all sources and amplification, but not speakers.

My spousal plan is different - I just pray she doesn’t notice. She did ask the other night what the total system cost, and was too close for comfort in her estimate. I brought her another cocktail, so hopefully she doesn’t remember the conversation.
