Dave Grusin
Discovered Again Just an amazing album, with the most definitive bass of any album I own. Very close second is Ron Carters Etudes though not as well recorded (D2D versus Studio) A must have piece of Vinyl IMHO! Regards, Jim

Lionel Hampton Quintet from that 2000ish remaster series Verve was releasing. Lots of upbeat swing. Buddy DeFranco on clarinet, Oscar Peterson, Ray Brown and Buddy Rich. Hampton's vocal stylings remind of Keith Jarrett a bit. Phenomenally clear and detailed sonics from a 1954 recording.

I have this album, and remember not exactly digging it, but I loved the cover art so it's framed here on the Music Library wall. Maybe I need to give it another spin ...
