Without a doubt, the best audio journey Ive ever been on.
Your pictures were wonderful and creative. I love how you told the story of your test components and how you came to your conclusion. MSB- check SF Fenice Checkity check Gryphon Signature - Bravo. I only wish I lived 150 metres from your house. |

These one liners make me think of something...
My teenagers tells me to turn it down and to play music not that often. WHAT! It should be the other way around!!! Doesn't it? At weekends they sleep until after lunch and probably they need to because they stay up al night. I can't play music then. One of my favorite music occasions are satrurday and sunday morning . Thats not possibly since half a year due to this enormous fatigue. I seriously thinking about headphones. I'v tried that at many occasions during the years but have a hard time get the right (as I see it) music involvement and feeling when I listening. Since a couple of months I'v been trying some headphones and headphone amps. I'v have not that much axpectations about different products. I just want to listen to a lot of different products and figure out what could suit my taste. For the most nothing coaught my eye/ear. But suddenly one headphone did. I did't even know that Focal made headphones. This was my very best headphones experience so far. I'v tired STAX, Audeze, Sennheisser, HiFimann AKG, Pryma, and many more. The airy, smooth detailed and musical sound involved me in the music and made me more happy listen to Focal then others. Focal could move the music out from my head and get some feeling of it playing the music in front of me. The acoustic from the recording is much better then any other headphones and I think this is important for the feeling that the singer is not standing on my Pituitary gland and just 2 cm high. This is so far my favorite. Focal Utopia. I also tried Focal Elear. It's good but not that good. A little bit more dull and instruments are more attached and closer together. But it's still better than a lot of others. Here are some other examples I'v tried. I also tried some other headphones in the product range both up and down. Up is usually better. A lot of bas power in Audeze but thats not enough. I'v got som more to try but I think it will be hard to beat Focal Utopia. ------------------------------------------- I also tried some headphoneamps. Al of them are quit good. It differs a lot more between headphones, but after a while it's clear that I like Quad PA-One and Pathos Aurium the best. Pathos has got a great touch especially in the midrange. Quad is as good in the midrange and at the same time has got more power and is slightly more dynamic. So far Focal Utopia and Quad PA-One is my favorites. We'll see if I stick to that conclusion. Are there any thoughts and good advice from experienced headphonlisteners out there? Last edited by Apexorca; 01-30-2017 at 01:20 PM. |
