Default First Look: 2018 Ford Mustang

http://www.automobilemag.com/news/20...636AB8A94E7E18

" Thanks to port-and-direct injection and a revised exhaust system, Ford says this is the most powerful and high-revving Mustang GT ever offered. Again, no official numbers are available yet, but we wouldn’t be surprised to see a power figure climbing above the 450 hp mark to compete with the current Chevrolet Camaro SS."

"Underneath the fancy new bodywork, Ford slotted the trick MagneRide magnetic suspension in from the top-tier GT350 in the GTs outfitted with the popular Performance Package."

Wonder if you can see 'over the hood' on the new one. Ford stated it has been lowered. Hope so. My wife wanted a '15, but couldn't see out the front well enough. Lower/smaller is better.

While its hard to tell for sure just using the picture, but it looks like the hood line matches the the GT350. I happen to have both a 2016 Mustang GT and a 2016 GT350 so I can speak to the hood difference in those cars from personal experience. The GT350 is significantly lower and I would agree it is indeed much easier to see out of, though I dont have visibility issues in either car.

Make yourself 5'1" tall and let me know.
Will have to drop down to the local Ford emporium and 'check it out'. I see no mention of their very capable V6 engine. As a daily driver, think the V6 mated to the 10spd auto would be the way to go.

The V6 is being dropped as an option for the updated 2018 model.

I like the lower hood line of the GT350 (and the flat plane crank) and feel it is a good direction to take the base car. It is a good looking car.

I'm guessing that if someone is 5'1" they wouldn't even be able to see over the dash of a new Camaro because of the legacy of the 60's gauges sticking up. Several reviewers have complained about that.

It looks really cool. US manufacturers have been launching some very exciting cars lately.
