Tony, Masterlu, nice to be here. Strange thing about Whidbey Island, in the 44+ years I've lived here, I've never met another audio buff here on the island. There hasn't been an audio store here now for about 35 years, so there seems to be no culture involving audio here on the rock.

Hello Everyone,

My name is Tim and I hail from the Almost Heaven state. I have been an audiophile since the 1970s. Summer of 1976 I worked and saved all my money to buy my first audio system which consisted of a Harman/Kardon receiver, BIC turntable, and a pair of Advent speakers.

Today I have a mix of vintage and modern, solid state and tubes. I'm happy where I am for now. The next change will be in cables and interconnects. Our taste in music ranges from Blues and Jazz to a little Classical.

Just thought I would drop in and say hello. Looking forward to making friends and participating often with a whole lot of wit and a little bit wisdom from time to time.

I'm brand new to this forum, but not to audio, nor to audio forums. I live in the Seattle area and I have been a member off and on of our local audio club since 1986.

I've been into audio for about 35 years now, and I feel that I've got a very nice sounding, classic system.

Presently I'm running a classic ARC SP8 preamp, with an older than I am MC225 amp and my Snell speakers, along with a VSE Level 6.5 modified sony SACD player. For anlog I have a Linn LP12 with an ET-2 arm, and an assortment of great MC cartridges which I will "roll" through my phono setup.

I recently acquired a McIntosh MC2301 amp, but I'm unsure of its condition. And so I will giving it a thorough once-over before daring to plug it into my system.

great idea. From the signatures I'm guessing several of us shop at Definitive, maybe we could get them to host an evening for us.

No kidding. They look at me like a walking wallet when I go in there. Just kidding, I like those guys. They treat me well.

We can meet at music matters this month, definitive does that every Feb. Maybe we can get a beer afterwards.

Ron mentioned it the last time I was in, but unfortunately I'll be out of town.
