I just looked at MSS HiFi eBay store. The McIntosh C50 is gone, no longer listed. Now they are showing a brand new in sealed box C2300. Sure would like to know where the McIntosh components are coming from.

There's darn sure not going to be any warranty on any of these NIB components, that's for sure. Boey may be buying these components retail at a discount from an authorized dealer, and then reselling them just high enough in price to make a small profit in an attempt to demonstrate to all that he can sell brand new McIntosh components. This may be an attempt to convince some unsuspecting persons that he is an authorized McIntosh dealer, which he certainly is not. His entire persona is a crafty illusion.

A friend of mine wanted to buy speakers from
MSS. When I showed her the thread "MSS took my money", she asked for explanations.
This is what she received :

Yes, that is a posting an unreasonable and disgruntled customer. He ordered a pair of MC1.2KWs which are built to order and wanted them voltage converted to 230V. We explained to him the timeline needed (which was about 6-8 weeks estimated build time) but he became impatient after 4 weeks and demanded the amps to be shipped immediately. The issue was voltage conversion is not something McIntosh will do direct from the factory if the ship to address is a US address. So it has to be shipped out 120V and then return back to the factory for voltage conversion with the reason – “owner is moving back to Europe” This will take another 2-3 weeks since voltage conversion is the least priority item with other issues like repairs that are in the line at the factory awaiting attention to.

This is always a tough situation for sellers like us where we sell brand new items at a substantial discount, bear the freight shipping cost to send the units back to the factory and back to us at a minimal voltage conversion charge (which we actually subsidize since they are expensive) and yet have to deal with buyers who already enjoy all this cost benefits but want the full service as if they have paid full price for them. I hope this clarifies the issue with you.

We are not in the business to rip people off. Like you have noticed, the world is a much smaller space with the internet and quite frankly, if we do want to rip people off, we will do it for a more worthwhile sum of money…like Bernie Madoff! But jokes aside and in all seriousness, we are a brick and mortar store in NYC. You can also check our feedbacks on eBay where we receive positive feedbacks every day. We have millions of dollars worth of inventory in the store so it’s not like something we can just pack up overnight and disappear.

I know it’s a huge leap of faith on your end but I guess it all boils down to trusting me and me delivering my end of the commitment back to you. I am an Asian and have 3 young boys in my family. Honor and trust are very strong values in our culture and family and if I can’t deliver the honor and trust my father has taught me and his father before him, I have shame myself, my 3 boys and dishonored my family name.

Here is my promise to you – I will have the speakers shipped to you with tracking number within one business day after receipt of the wire transfer. If I fail to do that, you don’t need to post any kind of “grievances” on the internet, just report me directly to Homeland Security. They have my record on file where I have cleared all their security checks here in the US and security checks of myself back in my own country. I basically have nothing to hide. I am here in the US to make an honest living and provide for my family a better way of life. I will not throw this away for any sum of money….

What do you think about that ? To me, it seems that they have now a ready answer they worked on. But still JL gets no news after 4 months from them so these are just lies IMHO.

Jérôme.......That is the biggest line of bullshit I have ever read. Honor? That idiot doesn't have a clue what honor means. As for sending the 1.2Kw amps back to the factory for voltage conversion, that is a total lie. My friend at McIntosh told me they will not deal with MSS HiFi in any way, and that includes refusing to sell them parts. Boey can buy a fuse from McIntosh.

The only thing I would ever send Johnny Boey is one of your cat droppings from the litter box. Even that has greater value than his word.
