I can't, and won't, say whether you did the right thing. If you want to read about what really happened (all the facts) and about other people's Grado experiences as well (good and [mostly] bad), go the to Head-Fi site and search for "Grado & Audeze". Near the end of the current postings, I discuss an amazing Private Mail I received from another Head-Fi'er who is actually afraid to post his/her experiences with them publicly because s/he still owns the unit and fears they will treat him/her even worse than his/her last experience, which s/he claimed required him/her to have his/her dealer ultimately make the repair. S/he said his/her experience was "EXACTLY" (his/her word and caps) like mine right down to having to send it three times but s/he gave up in the end. I didn't. Out of respect for his/her privacy, I won't identify the sender or even the sender's gender.

My PS1000 arrived from Grado today. They required a signature, which is a good change. However, they didn't provide notice or a tracking number, which is still bad. I won't be using them until I have my new Woo Audio 5 sometime next week so the amp will be completely different in case the unit fails again. Unfortunately, I don't think I'll have my power tubes in hand for a couple of weeks so the PS1000 will just have to enjoy itself sitting on one of my Woo stands. It's a nice stand, so the Grado should rest comfortably until I get to it. It's been a miserable customer service experience but I hope the unit will now work well for many years. If it works for any length of time, it will be the first time. We'll see . . .
