Default 3D weird anomalies

Saw my first 3D movie today and sometimes it looked 3d and other times it looked strange kinda like the felt stories on an easel from Sunday School.

my vision was last checked out at 20/10

3D itself is a weird anomaly. But if you want a Wolf quality image we'll give you one at $15k or $75K by June. Best part of these guys is they have smokin' 2D performance so when 3d gives you the same migraine it gives me you can go back to a natural filmic image.

Glad to hear it is not just my eyes...I do really have a headache
could have been the 2 dollar glasses that looked like Emagine cleaned them with steel wool and a Hershey bar

The $2 glasses and the filter are the least screwed up.

I never understood until someone explained it very simply. If you are standing in front of the screen and you step to the side, you should see a 3D image from an angle. But with TV you never see the sides/dimensions of the people/images that you would see in real life. Simply put, when your brain "sees" 3D it diplomatically calls BS.

With 3D the camera has your perspective as long as your directly in front of the screen. But move to the side and you still see the image from the camera's perspective not yours. Compared to this the digital audio black circa 1983 is the most musical sound you ever heard.

Personally, I'm waiting for holograms.

Zero interest in 3D here.

... not enough information. I'm guessing you saw this at a theater. What was the movie? Was it made for 3D or converted? Was it in a cinema that paid attention to detail?

This is no less true in 2D. You are always seeing the movie from the perspective of the camera (the director's, cinematogrpaher's, and editor's decisions).

Before you give up, see a quality 3D image in a good IMAX 3d auditorium. Avatar is still the sine qua non of 3D. Regardless of your opinion about the movie, this is the current reference for how 3D can be.

Avatar and IMAX or any other way I view it, 3D needs to be far more compelling than it's current iterations just to reach entry level for me. Not saying you shouldn't like it and embrace it. Just saying it's not for me.

As for the perspective issue you misunderstand. It is not at all disorienting to walk in front of a 2D image. It is for a 3D image, at least for me. The only visually triggered migraines I have ever had occurred while viewing 3D. I can bring them on faster if I change seats or move my head a lot.

Maybe I'm defective.
