The Furutech receptacle is great quality with a very positive contact and a big mechanical/contact improvement for those aged and worn out low grade standard receptacles. I thought I heard an improvement in sound when using my headphone gear with the ultra resolving Focal Utopia Headphones but can't be 100% on that to be honest. Mechanically speaking it is much better but sound wise it certainly doesn't jump out and scream IMPROVEMENT!

The upgraded/high quality receptacle may make perfect sense but a wall cover plate? Not so much in my mind. If you hear a difference from a wall plate cover, well, your ears are MUCH better than mine.

There is a definite improvement in using the 3 piece set. I have replaced every single audio outlet in all of my homes.

At last count, I use just over 115 sets of them. Twenty are in my Cape Theater alone.

These are extremely popular, and on constant back-order in the USA.

The Fututech NCF stands for Nano-Tech Crystal Formula. Made with nano-crystalline, ceramic and carbon powder. It is claimed that it generates negative ions to eliminate static and converts "thermal energy" into "infra-red". Serge... believe me, I wished that I didn’t hear any difference. All the technical explanations really don’t mean much to me. I find, these types of upgrades/tweaks either work, or don’t.

Yes, let's focus on "hearing the difference" part. If you hear it, that is the most important part.

I do not think that diving into technical stuff and marketing here would be of any benefit at all for the simple reason that negative ion generation in nature and all the mechanisms behind that as well as HIGH VOLTAGE devices designed to generate negative ions have nothing to do with a receptacle at all.

I do agree however that a more positive mechanical connection is an obvious source of improvement in sound in some cases (think oxidized and poor connections between gear and cables which need to be cleaned.)

I'm not going to even get into converting "thermal energy" into "infra-red" by a receptacle... That would be just silly to discuss that.

Let's just leave it at I heard a difference and I am happy.

I couldn’t tell you how any cable improves sound, or a fuse, or how Stillpoints improve sound. If you haven’t tried them, you’re only speculating.

My ears are the only ones that matter, and I hear a very positive improvement. In fact all Furutech upgrades perform positively, right up to and including their demagnetizer.



The above is used on vinyl, CD/Blu Rays, and Cables. I don’t understand how this works either, but it does.

No psycho acoustics in play here; I received this $3K demagnetizer as a gift from a customer. I could care less if it worked, or didn’t. I hear a positive improvement from it, so it stays.

The OP can totally start with a receptacle of his choice and as far as the cover I would use a standard cover. I only have experience e with Shunyata, PS Audio and Furutech around the home with higher end cables coming out of each.

In my 2 channel there’s no doubt the Furutech GTX NCF package contributed to an overall improvement in sound, and I use Nordost Odin coming out of it which is a Furutech NCF plug - together it’s crazy good.
