Almost pulled the trigger on an X20 today. Guess I have more homework to do.

That's the new Fuji 16-50/f3.5-5.6 standard zoom "kit" lens. It's designed to be a less expensive lens, which is why it's a stop slower at both ends than the 18-55/f2.8-4, which has proven to be a superb zoom lens. The lens shown in the video is the new 27mm (40mm 35 equiv) "pancake" lens.

Even today, superior optics cost money. My guess, for what it is, it will be an excellent lens. All the Fuji glass I've used or own has proven to be exceptional.

I do wish Fuji would stop messing around and release the 23mm prime they are supposed to release, though.

The X-M1 looks remarkably like an X10/X20.

BTW, my XF 14mm arrives Thursday!

Fast enough for what?

All depends on what your requirements are. One of the best lenses I own is the Canon 17-40; it's an f/4 lens. It's a great lens.

Fast enough for what?

All depends on what your requirements are. If 95% of your photography is outdoors, there's no need for faster lens speed. One of the best lenses I own is the Canon 17-40; it's f/4; it's a great lens. One doesn't always need f/2.8 glass or faster.

.

This does look like a very nice and very special camera, but at its announced price of $699 (body only) it is only $100 less expensive than the Fuji X-E1, at its current "street" price of $799 (also body only). Among other things, the X-E1 does have a very nice EVF viewfinder and other features that appear to be missing in the X-M1.

So, the X-M1 is not actually "significantly" less expensive, and Fuji may well be gearing up for a replacement for the X-E1 at a higher price.

Edit and note: The X-M1 will be available with the 16-50 kit lens at $799 which, when compared with the X-E1 kit with its 18-55 lens, currently offered at $1199, does make the newer camera seem much more like a bargain.
