I think the point is, this unit can handle your home theatre room no matter the size or configuration. If you're not sure if your room would be optimized with 5.1 or 7.1 or 9.1 or 7.2 or 5.3...this unit will accomodate your journey.

I agree that the height channels could be neat. Like most others, however, I'm sticking with 5.1. I think it's impractical for just about anyone that doesn't have a dedicated theater. That said, there are people that have dedicated theaters.

I found this a very interesting read... I've thought about height channels from time to time in the past.. Didn't realize they were actually coming so soon. I'd definately be interested..
I wonder if the mx150 would be compliant? (cause that's what I'm sticking with for at least 8-10 years lol) |

Denon top of the line
I must say this is quite the Reciever it must have A pretty hefty Transformer to put out that mutch power into that many channels.I still have my very dependable 3802 with A 5.1 setup and it sounds great but need to upgrade soon, don,t know if I,ll go Denon or Marantz though.Tough call.THX Jim

jimimac, I alos have the 3802. It has been a great machine, but with Blue Ray, I would love to have HDMI switching. I also just started a turntable setup, and would like something a little more upscale for two channel stereo playing.
Have you looked at the Rotel receiver? i think it is the RX-1560?
