Ugh. I just noticed the Impex reissue of Monk's Dream isn't the original album format, but includes the alternate takes of the CD reissue from a decade ago. I hate when they do that. I want the vinyl as it was originally released, not with additional tracks that weren't meant to be on it, unless they do that as a bonus disk.

Dean,

Do you think that the odd track listing could be an anomaly of Acoustic Sounds?

Music Direct (admittedly, no more "accurate" than Acoustic Sounds) and Elusive Disc list the correct track sequence and a facsimile of the original would be more in keeping with Impex's other jazz releases.

Reggie Workman - Summit Conference on Postcards, a December 1993 recording with Sam Rivers on tenor, soprano and flute, Julian Priester on trombone, Andrew Hill on piano, Reggie Workman on bass, and Pheeroan akLaff on drums. Recorded ADD - wish it was released on vinyl, but the cd is not bad.....well, it's ok - music is great though!

I hope you are right, and I agree keeping the original track order is more inline with Impex's issues.

The Quintet: Jazz at Massey Hall

This is the HDtracks 24/96 download which sounds better than any other iteration I've heard. Still has the overdubbed bass tracks. Parker's plastic saxophone sounds better than ever. One of the great live jazz concerts...
