Default Led Zeppelin remasters

First Three Albums Newly Remastered With Previously Unreleased Companion Audio | Led Zeppelin - Official Website

I'm surprised someone here hasn't already started a thread on this, maybe I missed it.

This is potentially really exciting to me, because I have never liked the way led zeppelin albums sound. They seem pretty thin and not very dynamic. However, haven't these already BEEN remastered by Jimmy Page before? Anyone know if there's anything fundamentally different this time?

Jimmy Page seems to recognize that the previous remasters were nothing special, and he thinks these ones are...so...for whatever that is worth.

He should let the team who did The Beatles CD remasters do the job.

Is it true on these re-masters that the channels are reversed too?

seems only the records that are the hirez versions were done correct fro what I have read.

Also this is only the 1st 3 of how many?

There's an insanely detailed discussion over on the Steve Hoffman site about these remasters many pages long. There doesn't seem to be too many details about the mastering yet but the general thinking is that they'll most likely be high quality digital masters put on vinyl similar to the Beatles stereo box. I'll probably hold off until some good feedback comes in, especially since I have the first several Classic Records issues. Gonna be hard to beat those.

I agree. Classic Records did a superb job on those issues. I'll stick with those.

This is probably wishful thinking but I'm hopeful that maybe when the reissues hit it may bring down the price of the Classics still out there, I'd love to get a copy of Physical Graffitti, but man they're expensive.
