My other CCQ is in, but one of the tubes tested below Danny's acceptance level, so I'll wait another week for a replacement tube so that the amps are perfect at delivery! I'm getting a bit antsy, but they say that good things come to those who wait...

I just finished listening to the 300b for the first time.

It is really nice. I absolutely can hear more separation between the instruments and the vocals. The strings of the guitar are more distinct. The voice sounds more organic. I hear more depth.

Default 300 B's are lovely

I remember the first time I heard a Audionote 300B Integrated its was the most natural amp in the midrange. Sadly my speakers were not up to be driven by 8 watts. But i will never forget the sound

That's exactly right. The midrange is much more ... natural ... and persuasive. The music I am listening to with it is because all midrange too, especially the human voice.

My fears about 20 vs 8 watts and losing any dynamics from the gm70 so far are unfounded.

If anything, the 300b makes it much more crisp and present.

I am really happy with them. I expect them to just keep on improving as well.

Just read KenSea's post- I also had a short but meaningful time with a 300B. I had Vac 30/70 mono's on audition several years BS. (BS means before Shindo of course). My experience was also quite special. There was an illumination in the mids that was just so damn natural. However, they just weren't quite up to the task of an 87db, 4 ohm speaker. So back they went in favor of a Vac KT88 amp. Now that I soon delve back in to 300B land, they will be driving the 96's. As I proof read this, it almost sounds as if I'm describing a girl (-:

I think based on my experience last week of a failed tube Danny and Graeme are becoming extra careful. Hope you get your amps soon.

Wow wow wow...

I put on Janos starker on cello (Bach) and it's incredible how much more vivid the performance is.

Really amazing to me.

I don't want others to rely on my impressions as I am probably the least talented listener here, but the immediacy and the flow of the music over me was ...just inspiring.

Richard,

Why would you be the least talented listener here ?
300B Set amps are just what you describe.
Supreme mids and Immediacy.
I listened to the 300B Set amp of JC Verdier in his home. Playing just classical music from the radio. It is very easy to understand why some people swear only by the 300B.
