Default Usher BE718 tiny dancer - opinions?

Couldn't pass up a good deal on these, I bought from original owner. Anyone own, or have moved on?

The 6moons review was encouraging. I have not received them yet.

JT3.......The 6moons review was interesting. Seems John Potis was impressed with them. They are good looking. Are yours the silver or black versions?

From my brief exposure to the Usher gear you should be pleased with your purchase. These are solidly made with no significant sonic issues.
Happy listening.

Hey Dan, they are the black ones. I hope they sound as nice as they look. They should be here in the next week.

Now I need to find some good stands, they are fairly large.

JT3.......Yes, some nice stands, for sure. You'll probably need a pair that are about 28 to 32 inches high to the bottom of the speakers.

Looking forward to your impressions once they are set up and have some hours on them. Congratulations.

JT3...I heard them a while back at a dealer's with Naim electronics. I remember being very impressed with their value for performance ratio. Very nice speakers

Here is a pic of these bad boys:

The thing with the Ushers is they need to be elevated, as mentioned on other forums. They're also fairly heavy at 35lbs each. Very few stands can adequately support them.

For now, I found end tables from World Market. They are 31 inches tall and actually very sturdy, made with solid hardwood and bolts. My stand of choice would be Sound Anchors, IMHO they are the best stands available for the Ushers.

I will A-B them soon against AV123 ELT towers, which offer high value and are TONE recommended.

I had a pair of these a while ago for a weekend audition. At the time I was comparing them to the GMA Callistos. I thought they had good bass for a monitor, and overall the sound was pretty good. The Callistos had better transient snap, imaging, and midranage palpability. The sound of the GMA speaker was more like music in the room. I passed on the Ushers.
