Only 70 matched sets in the world!

Only 1 earmarked for Australia!!

I sent the photos from here to a bloke I know and he's ordered them this morning. Allocation confirmed. Envious!

Both units will be individually available for $7,000 and $15,000 for the C70 and MC2152 respectively.

MSRP of the complete system (including the book) is $22,000. McIntosh will donate $1,000 to Save the Children for every Anniversary System sold.

Reflects the significant value of modern McIntosh integrated amplifiers such as the MA7200/MA8900 (amp/pre/5-band tone control/MM-MC Phono/DAC Module/High-Drive Headphone). Especially if purchased from Audio Classics.

I placed my order today for the ‘regular’ MC2152. Expected delivery is the end of this month or early January. I cant wait

Now the only problem is... where am I going to put this thing... it’s HUGE. 28 inches deep and 125lbs....yikes. My Solidtech racks can hold the weight but the depth will not work due to placement of the racks. Hmmmm....

While picking up my C70, I saw one of the 70th Anniversary McIntosh Commemorative System in person. The MC2152 will definitely polarize. Here are some of my thoughts:
  1. Very large. The dealer does not have a proper stand for it and can only put it on a shelf where the side is the front. You have to see it in person to appreciate how large it is.
  2. Very heavy. MY sales guy wanted me to see the front but moving it is a chore.
  3. Blue or green tube lights is cool.
  4. Not sold on the carbon fiber look. I guess I am a bit more traditional in this regard but prefer the traditional chassis and monolithic logo.

Honestly, if I was going to make a purchase like this I would get a pair of MC275's and run the amps as 150W mono blocks if I needed that amount of tube power. Otherwise a single MC275 or a set of MC75's. I love there sound and they just speak to me a more.

That being said, I am sure they will find good homes with music lovers from all over.

Agree on the size. I have SolidTech racks which can hold the weight. It’s the physical dimensions that I have to figure out. Meaning, the rack will have to move further away from the wall etc. I’m not looking forward to dealing with all that. Although once I get everything in place the openness of the SolidTech rack will certainly allow the MC2152 to be seen in all its glory. Haha I’ll post pictures next week.

Picked up my MC2152 today and got it in the rack tonight. Figured I post some initial pictures for those that may be interested. Not my best photo work since I was rushed but I’m sure you’ll forgive me ! Haha I know some will ask about the green and blue lights and yes they are pretty accurate shades. Don’t get hung up on the poorly lit photos. In person the colors are better.

I only listened for about an hour as I tested all my sources which are connected via my C2600. So far I love it!! I’ll follow up again once I get a proper breakin period.
