True forgot that, sorry. I no longer pay out the wazoo for Charter or any other cable. All is viewed thru Amazon and Netflix. Even with CBS, HBO and 1 other on top of Amazon Prime fees, it is about 25% the cost of full Charter HD top packages I used to have and never watch 85% of the shite anyway.

And I get a bucketload of free shipping from Prime. No-brainer.....

I bit the bullet and paid the CBS fee just to watch this series. My decision was based on Star Trek NG which I loved many moons ago. Many of the story lines presented ethical dilemmas which Picard navigated with skill and emotional intelligence. There are too few character studies like this available to give your youngsters some kind of role model. I was a Naval Officer and have been a company president for the past 20+ years. I strive to emulate Picard's sense of decency, firmness when required and overall "command presence".

The new series has the promise of more of the same. Picard is in his twilight years, coping with his mortality. So am I. We connect.

Just a note. You can stream "many" channels (including ABC, CBS, NBC) for FREE if you have a good internet connection and a computer ...:

Episode 2 was IMHO a bit more of a letdown - compared to Episode 1.

It feels almost like this was designed to be a binge watch type of series - so it is OK to have some exposition, moving of the pieces that takes time to set up.. but you can then move on to Episode 3 where you see the pieces being connected.

The best demonstration of this is Jack Ryan also on Amazon Prime. Some of the earlier episodes set up characters that you don't really understand why they are there. But it all falls into place at the end.

Wont go into spoilers for now...

Thanks for free preview, was really good! Kinda makes me feel old though - time flies from next gen series, ooy.

Also, in a similar sci-fi vein, a FANTASTIC series on prime is the Expanse. You have to get through the first 4-5 shows in the series - it’s a bit confusing and little meh at first. But trust me after things settle in, I binged the whole thing, which I don’t do a lot of. One of my favs
