Fellow AA comrades,

I'm in the market for speaker cables. I've been considering the usual suspects that are typically mated with my Wilson/Lamm combo:

Transparent
MIT
Kubala-Sosna
Purist Audio

I've been hearing nothing but great things about Shunyata Research's new Zitron cables. Does anyone have any experience with any in the Zitron line?

Hi thesaint,

I think you could seriously consider NIRVANA cables as well. I always had interesting results with this brand on WILSON speakers. Good luck in your shopping for new cables. Don't forget the power/mains cables; they are so important when it is a quality product. ;-)

I use WireWorld Silver Eclipse 6 between the 2301's and the WP8 and like them a lot.

Thanks. I'd add them to the short list.

Hi Cellindo,

The Transparent Reference Balanced MM1s came in a couple nights ago, courtesy of Larry Marcus of Paragon Sight & Sound. He also included set of Transparent Audio Music Wave Ultra spkr cable to demo along with he Reference ICs. In a word, wow! Didn't realize how much information I was missing out on. What good is reference quality gear if you never get to hear what it can do? I am a believer. I'm lookin' to up the ante by finding a set of Transparent Audio Reference MM1 spkr cables, and then upgrading them all to MM2 first chance I get. But I'm staying with Transparent. Thanks uncle Larry.

I'M A BELIEVER!! NICE system!! Is this his system or your own? Does he find it beneficial to have his speakers on platforms? I, too, have Lamm hybrids (M1.2s). After I get the cabling completed (gotta get Transparent Reference Speaker Cable), the next item on the short list is the Lamm L2 preamp. It looks like that is what he has, according to the picture. By the way, what power cords is he using, Purist Audio? How does this system sound? Killer, right?

We all should be able to afford the kind of systems we'd like to own. I live vicariously through many others that have dream systems. But for what my lifestyle allows, I'm happy - for now. Until, of course, that pesky upgrade bug bites me in the _ss again . Here is a picture of my system just after the Sashas & the Lamms arrived. I've since had the spkrs voiced and spiked, and added SRA isoBases under the Lamms. See my profile picture. I'm a work in progress too .
