I was familiar with the Ralph Angus McQuarrie design which for all intents and purposes ( and with some inspiration from illustrator Chris Foss ) evolved into the signature Imperial Star Destroyer template. I understand the pressures to show something at Comic Con... But IMHO it was not a smart thing to do.
