Auditioned both the Primaluna Premium Dialogue HP and the Line Magnetic 805 for a period and came away super impressed with the Line Magnetic. That is what I kept at the end of the day. Still super happy and it sounds so much better now after break in. Tube rolling is great fun on this too!

Quicksilver makes some nice pieces. If I had kept all my 'keeper's I would not be able to move in my listening space.

In the past I would sell first, then replace. Lately I have been buying before selling but don't want to get into that habit. I got the QS to match with a pair of Klipsch Forte III but the speakers didn't work out for me so they are for sale. I am reconfiguring my system and looking for high efficiency speakers that will integrate well in my room.
That habit gets expensive. I've got three pairs of speakers and really only want the pair in my sig.

Yes........ tough to catch up (like I'm trying to do at the moment) when you have too many 'keepers'.

Tell me more about the Forte IIIs. They are high on my 'next speakers' list. What about them doesn't work for you?

My first was a Bogen tube monophonic.

My second was a JBL SA-600 in the late 60s (for around $600). I Googled this, and apparently they're selling used for around $5,500 today (mostly in Japan?)!
"The beautifully styled JBL SA-600 amplifier was launched by the James B. Lansing company in 1966, and Bart Locanthi (the designer) wrote the technical article linked to at the bottom of this write-up in January 1967. I’ve included this in the hifisonix power amplifier library because it is one of the earliest – if not the earliest – example of a commercial amplifier that addressed the potential for TIM/SID and that of Large Signal Non-linearity (LSN)."

I then went to separates before buying a Gryphon Diablo 300.
