+1 I would say these folks are definitely serious audiophiles. The difference is they have the disposable income available to pay these insane prices. If money were no object, I'm sure a lot of people around here would own TA Opus or Magnum Opus cables. They are after all, outstanding sounding cables.

I want to be clear. I am not advocating for anyone to go out a purchase the top of the line cables from Transparent, MIT, Crystal, Tara Labs, Nordost or from anyone else. I am not saying that anything in the BOM of cables seems to justify MSRP. I am not saying people should spend more on their cables than on their speakers or amps. I would never say you should buy anything in this hobby you cannot afford.

What I am saying is that cables can make a difference. When you find a cable you like only you can determine whether it is worth it to you. If you are where you want to be with speakers, amps, sources..... then cables might be the only component that will get the SQ closer to what you are looking for.

That is your opinion and I am entitled to mine. There are many people not just in audio that buy only for bragging rights. I have seen it myself. I have personal experience of a situation where an individual paid several hundred thousand for a pair of custom made speakers to have them available for an event he was throwing just for "bragging rights".

People do this all the time and not just in audio. Many will do it even though they can't afford it. Look at the debt loads in North America. I have assisted people in putting systems together and they know not one thing about high end audio.

Understand you can have your opinion as long as you respect the opinion of others. Your comments could have been made with the elimination of your first sentance.

Of course you have the right to your opinion. I would respect your opinion where you prefer product A over B. I would respect your opinion if you stated your prefer vinyl over digital over visa versa. I would respect your opinion you don't think cables make much or any difference. That said I still stand by my statement challenging your position "in plenty of cases the people that would spend that much on cables probably are not audiophiles and have less experience than many of regulars here and it is just that "bragging rights". Pompous would be a better word that hooey. Everything is wrong about that sentence. That is not a opinion that is trolling.

There are thousands of people with systems here. Name some.

As you correctly noted I did say plenty and not all which would not include 100% of the purchasers. I also personally know of individuals that have ordered / installed $100K+ home theater systems without auditioning one piece of equipment. To suggest that people spend obscene amounts of money on items for "bragging rights" is fact not fiction.

And "pompous" would not have been a better word as you do not personally know me. I have never displayed that I am better, smarter, or more important than other individuals on this forum. As a matter of fact a review of my posts would support this.

I have saw a guy in my country who use Zenzati cables entirely in home theater. Together with Constellation Hercules II and Centaur for all channels. Pretty crazy. But well. If he wanna spend.. Some customers are really born to spend . .
And these Zensati make Magnum Opus or !millions poles MIT feel ordinary .
