Default Shindo Aurieges channel imbalance

Have a slight channel imbalance. I swapped tubes and it followed one of the LCP86 tubes. However, when I turned up the volume it seemed to go away. A bit confused....

Any suggestions?

I have changed the ecf80s on my Aurieges mm a few days ago. The best cheap upgrade ever in my system. I suggest you change the tubes on yours.

I'd suggest getting a replacement for that pair of LCP86 tubes. At lower volumes a moderate channel imbalance can sometimes be more perceptible than at higher volume levels.

Shindo uses some unique tubes, so you might be best off contacting a Shindo dealer or the distributor. When I do a search on that specific tube there is some mention of not necessarily having to replace a pair, and that Shindo may recommend just replacing one along with a re-biasing procedure.

I doubt it is the tubes. The pots are more linear higher up in the range, which explains why it goes away when you increase the volume.
