Default New Pre, Aesthetix or VTL, or.......??

I am currently thinking about the possibility of a new preamp some time late this year. I'm considering a tube pre but have not ruled out a SS.

Two things that it must have is a remote and H/T pass through, since my system is in the main living area.

I've been really intrigued by the Aesthetix Calypso sig.,but also wondering about VTL products too.

Anyone here that has experience with either,or both ??

Haven't own any current VTL gear but do have the Calypso Sig and really enjoy it.....something to keep in mind is the recommended amplifier load: 10K ohms or greater (SE), 20K ohms or greater balanced.....something that should be looked into for any amp/pre pairing.....

Jeff any reason why you quote them specific figures . Am looking at a pairing

pre impedance out = 600 ohm
power amp = 10k ohm

oddly enough both units have the same value foe S.E as well as Balanced. Your thoughts please.

Power amp should be roughly ten times that of the preamp or you may experience some bottom end roll off.....a rule that many follow and manufacture state in the manuals as Aesthetix did.
