With your description and the great reviews so far, I am sure they are wonderful. There's a dealer very close and I'll see next week if he has them on display. My curiosity is piqued.

They got rather scathing reviews...

Apparently there is some sort of conspiracy that Anthem is denying they re-engineered the unit in between production runs as first issue ones don't quite sound right...

You can google it - the Stereophile review was the one I am referencing if memory serves correctly.

I'd still like to hear them to judge for myself and give Anthem a solid chance (they have always had a solid reputation).

Vesuvius, You know it is VERY DIFFICULT and sometimes it takes 5 minutes just to read your replies to threads with that Avatar you use!!

Yeah, my buddy has offered to let me "test" it for a while, that usually means months if not longer...Just like when he loaned me his T1 headphones, he let me borrow them for a little over a month when he had just bought them.

So, I'll see or should I say hear what they sound like in my Concertino speakers !
