About once a year. Vancouver is not humid + there's minimal pollution, so the contacts are always very clean after a year. My bare wire cooper speakers cables are still shiny after almost a decade.

Usually every two months. The three telltale signs in my system off dirty contacts are a loss of transparency (in large part because that quality is very striking in the MLs) , reduced resolution and a brightness in the upper midrange.

Every 6 months, maybe longer. Since I apply DeoxIT to all connectors, oxidation isn't a concern.

To be more specific: First I clean all the connections, save for the female RCAs, with Flitz and Q-tips. Then I polish the connections and then remove the Flitz with purified water. After washing off the Flitz, then I reclean all the connections with Kontak. Female connectors are cleaned with Kontak and pipe cleaners.

Interestingly, the connection I find has the greatest impact on the sound and must be kept immaculately clean are the AC cord plugs! I don't know why but dirty connections there really mucks up the sound.

If you haven't done so pull the wall outlets and clean the wires and connections with Kontak......also pulling the circuit breaker/breakers that feed the rig and giving them a good clean is also beneficial
