Calling all pipe experts

Just started with a pipe a few weeks back. Can some of you explain what difference the shape and size of the pipe makes on the smoking experience? Hotter colder ect. Also does the pipe being curved have any effect?

I liked the generic curved variety,wide mouthpiece and thick bowl. Meersham(sic) run cool if you like that. I liked the vanilla/fruit hinted tobacco's, which has carried over into my vaping; far healthier and just as nice, once you get used to 'em. The Totally Wicked Tornado T Tank is where it's at, and I use 36mg nicotine.

Thanks Radio I had my maiden voyage with my Poal Winslow what a wonderful smoke. I used Dunhill Nightcap in it made me a little dizzy . I much prefer a cool smoke. I like the house blend at my local shop Wellington Limited Gaslight. little vanilla and a litlle apricot.

I liked the dutch tobacco's too, bodied, with vanilla and smoot; Lanson I think the name was, and Gold Block was the sweetest of the generic brands, but burned quickly. Meersham is a type of pipe made from porcelain I think which gives a cool smoke. If you ever switch to the pro electronic cigarette vaping, not the crap pretend cigs you buy in your local convenience store, you will enjoy the fruit flavors, and the vanilla one I'm on at the moment is very good too. Just avoid the cherry. All this is a bit academic as you are just starting in the pipe game. Enjoy it, but not for too long; vaping can be your knight in shining armor, and 3 Million Americans have converted.

no doug.. a good smoker is a good smoker.. i prefer a straight.. think the europeans prefer the bents.. Peterson sure makes a wonderful pipe..last yr they had a bram stoker "Dracula" in a bunch of shapes/styles.. black gloss bowl and shank and a red stem with a black lace goin' thru it.. it's become a fave..some folks like dedicatin' certain pipes to certain blends..burnin' inna new pipe kinda sux but the reward id worth it..

A bent helps keep moisture at bay. Moisture steams the tongue like an oyster.
The 1964 Surgeon General says smoking a pipe adds years onto your life....

Don't smoke a pipe if the bowl is hot. Great pipes are slow to heat up.
Most smokers carry 2 pipes and alternate.
