Accuphase Integrated & B&W 805s - A good pairing?
Hi All
I've been thinking of moving away from my tube set up (McIntosh C220/MC2102) for some time now. I always have the option of swapping out the MC2012 with a solid state from McIntosh but one of my local dealers (only a 5 minute walk from my house!) carries the Accuphase line. I've visited often and have been eyeing the E series of integrated amps. Looks like I'd settle on the E-370 for budget reasons. I'd be pairing the E-370 with my B&W 805s. Changing the speakers is not really an option. I was wondering if they'd be a good match or if it's a case of "OMG this will not work!" I was also wondering, how well are their phono boards regarded? How about SQ in general from the E series? Of course I'll be doing any demos before any purchasing but I always like to get opinions from fellow aficionados Eddie |

When I owned my B&W 803 D3s, I drove them with an E-470 with great success! I suspect the E-370 will do just fine!

Thanks for the feedback. I'm hoping to do some auditioning when my schedule clears up. Probably won't be for a few weeks but my plan is to go in during the day so I can be free of weekend shoppers and have more time auditioning.

Well to be fair, they used to be a 45 minute bus ride from my house. On the other hand when they were a 45 minute bus ride from my house, they were a 5 minute walk from my work. So it all balanced out. |
