Will BDP1 pass MQA?
I am currently streaming Tidal with Roon through my BDP1. I would like to add MQA to the mix. My Roon core is an iMac, and I control with a Macbook Pro.
What I am wanting to do is add a Mytek Brooklyn, which is fully MQA capable, in between the BDP1 and the SP3. That will give me the ability to listen both at the headphone output and through my speakers. The question is, will the BDP1, which is not MQA capable, be able to pass through the MQA folded file through to the Mytek? If anyone can help me sort this out, it will be greatly appreciated.

Hi
Chris says the BDP-1 will pass the file intact. james |

Great--thanks James.
The MQA thread seems to have died down. Have you had any further thoughts on the matter? I would be a lot happier buying an upgraded BDP that did MQA than adding a third party unit into the chain.

I feel your pain. I've been trying to figure out exactly how to get MQA from Tidal into my livingroom. I'll stop wanting a Mytec Brooklyn once this happens.

So what does Qobuz do that Tidal and Roon don't?

24 bit up to 192KHz streaming.

OK, thanks. But, does it use some sort of compression, lossy or otherwise? I can barely stream the Tidal CD quality, depending on time of day. We're well out of the city, and our broadband options are all wireless.
Went ahead and ordered the Brooklyn DAC+, and also a DSPeaker X4, which does killer room correction.
