Default New Primaluna Dialogue HP Arrived today!

Not hooked up yet as I am awaiting arrival of new Sonus Faber Guarneri Evolutions to arrive this afternoon, as well as some new speaker cables to connect them with...
70 watts with the EL34s in place and 85 watts with KT-120s installed (I have KT-120s also, but am trying the EL34s first).

Beautiful integrated Jason, but be very careful. It has been said that listening to EL34 tube based amps can be verrrrryyyyy addictive. You may find yourself forgetting about the KT120's

Well it's been a good and bad day. Speakers and amps arrived, though my dealer only shipped me one of the stands...Boo! He is kindly overnighting it too me, but it is a bit of a bummer. Can't really assess the sound without them both being at the same height and with different rake angles, etc. New interconnect is coming tomorrow as well, so should have some better feedback tomorrow, plus the amps and speakers will have some time on the clock which should help... From what I can make out, the EL34 has an extraordinarily immediate presence about it, especially in 35 watt Triode mode. Very pretty sound. :-)

So far, I am in love with these speakers. A big improvement over the Olympica II I had previously.

They are extremely heavy!
120 lbs combined stand and speaker weight.
The stands are really impressive in person. They have a anti-vibration or some way of dealing with vibration built into them and come all assembled and ready to use.
They use a metal rod in the center of the stand post that is tensioned and runs from the top to bottom and then they use four different insulated points to connect to the black Granite base. Pretty cool really.

Also picked up a Rega Brio-R to use for background listening to avoid burning through tubes...

Jason,
New gear looks great! Very interested to hear your listening impressions, especially KT120 v EL34, and ultralinear v triode. Looks like Prima Luna really stepped it up with the HP models.

Thank you Paul. So far I am pretty excited by it. My first tube amp was the Primaluna Prologue Two and then upgraded to the Dialogue Two, but always felt they needed a bit more oomph and a little more transparency. So far, this seems to fit that bill nicely, but will give it some run in time before I make any real judgements. I am going to try KT-120s in it as well.

So far, I feel the 8 ohm tap sounds best with the EVOs.
They are rated 4 ohm, though they really don't fall beneath 4 ohms much and supposedly stay around 5 ohms for much of the frequency range.
4 ohm tap sounds more forceful, but not as enjoyable overall and the top end seems to get a little darker overall.
