I'm actually experiencing the same issue as the OP.

Was this ever resolved and what did you do to resolve the issue?

I tried resetting to Factory Defaults as well as resetting the MCU to no avail. Thinking its the latest firmware installed by McIntosh but not sure....

I had that issue once after a BAD power surge on off on off on off bang!

So I did a hard reset then it was fine. A few months later I did the firmware upgrade to make it like a 151, never have had an issue.

In fact I would think it is best to do a hard reset before one applies the firmware updates.

keep us posted and good luck, i think it will work out

This issue just happened to me, but the mx150 is completely unresponsive. I am unable to do the hard reset as described. The display just says mcintosh mx150 and the red light over the standby button is flashing red. Any thoughts?

I had that happen to mine after I unplugged it when moving the power cords around on my surge protector. I ended up sending it to Audio Classics for repair. They had to send it over to McIntosh to get it working again. I ended up trading it in on a MX151 while it was getting repaired, as I wanted to get my system operational again do to the long delay in getting it repaired.

Sorry to hear about your problems with the MX-150. I bought the MX150 a couple months after it came out and I have never updated the firmware and I have not had any issues either. I've read countless threads about problems after firmware updates such as Aux input issues, no pure stereo mode, and lots of hdmi issues. I have an Oppo blu ray, so no need for 3D update to the 151. Maybe see if Mcintosh can give you the original firmware and run it that way. You may want to ask Ivan but I believe he doesn't update firmware either and as far as I know, he hasn't had issues either. Good Luck!

Assume you also tried unplugging it for a half hour or so, right?
