Studio widescreen gets acoustic art panel
You might notice I took a page from member Sea music. He had an acoustic panel made to fully cover his 55' widescreen television, post #3 here: https://www.audioaficionado.org/show...ighlight=Cover. That got me to thinking that perhaps my 52" widescreen may be giving me some delayed bounce so I decided to try one of my extra 2" x 24" x 48" acoustic panels over the TV. I fabricated two steel hangers covered in shrink wrap that allows me to hang the panel on the TV without damage. My problem with this arrangement wasn't that the sound stage took on greater definition, focus, and clarity because it certainly did. My issue, it is ugly and doesn't cover the full dimensions of the TV. I went searching and located a company in Tampa, Florida (AcoustiMac.com) that manufactures acoustic panels and acoustic art panels. The are happy to manufacture custom sizes so I ordered a 2" thick x 29" x 49" acoustic art panel with Owens Corning 703 fiberglass and beveled edges. This will see the panel extend 1/2" beyond the TV dimensions on all side. My custom hangers will still work and be hidden. This is the printed scene I ordered for the acoustic material. I addition I ordered a 2" thick x 24" x 48" burgundy acoustic panel from ATS Acoustics, the same people I ordered all my other panels in the studio and control room from. I did not care for the ivory colored panel that hung above the widescreen. The burgundy panel is an exact color match to the corner bass traps I installed in the front left and right corners. It really helps pull everything together. I am about 8 days from my Acoustic art panel shipping. That will be the final aesthetic adjustment to the studio. Gotta love this hobby.

Dan, how easy/difficult is it to place/remove and store it for when the TV is in use, and how often do you use the screen? Look forward to updated photos.

Once the acoustic art panel arrives I will capture a photo of my fabricated hangers. I made them from high strength steel fish tape that electricians use to pull electrical wire through conduit.
