-- Oh I see; opinions on how to perhaps improve the sound.

Ok: Move your speakers slightly on the outside, and also forward; slightly ahead of your cabinet's front face. ...To have more room to breathe and eviscerate the reflections from the front wall (behind your speakers) and the side walls of your cabinet.

Hi Bob,

Good catch/suggestion. That's exactly what I do when I plan to be listening for a while. But I must admit that I don't mind the little bass bump I get from having the speakers on the wall. The room is quite large and the ceiling is 14' high so a little help in pressurizing it is welcome.

But I do have a turntable between the speakers ... not to mention a really old turntable with a cheapo Shure M97 cartridge ... kind of a waste for the Monbrison phono stage. But I play old records and I don't want to risk my fancy/expensive Clearaudio Maestro.

I heard a comedian recently (can't remember his name) say that in a conversation with his significant other, he can be right or he can be happy, but can't be both. In your setup, if she likes it, it must be right! Jdk

If I'm walking in the woods and my wife isn't with me.
If I say something, am I still wrong?

Alberto....funny how you asked for people to comment on what's wrong and you seem to be getting more compliments than criticisms. I join the ranks of those who choose to compliment...this is a most gorgeous and inviting looking setup, beautiful gear and lots of great looking wood...and I'm a huge sucker for wood and the warmth it brings.

Okay, you mentioned that rack and gear sandwiched betweem the speakers...okay so that's supposed to be "against the rules", but sometimes it is unavoidable. My system has the same "fault", but it doesn't bother me a bit, the system's imaging and soundstage is great just the same.

Kudos on a beautiful setup. Would love to hear it.

Pete

That's because you guys are always too nice. I should post it on some of the forums where they'd rip it apart .

But I am think it would be fun and educational for us to post photos of our system for criticism. I know I've learned quite a bit over the years.

It's OK to break the rules, and it's even better if you know what rules you are breaking and why.

So let me have it . I can count at least a dozen serious violations of audiophile best practices.

Alberto
