Default Who wants near MC501 performance on a budget?

If anyone is interested in near MC501 performance on a budget, grab the Audio Research 100.2 stereo amp being sold for $1800 on A'gon. I had that same model amp in my system when I also had the 501s and the 501s just barely edged it out. It is a great amp for the money.

How about some less costly amps that are very close to MC2KW's or MC2301's ?

I don't know for the MC2kW.
But for the 2301's, something tells me that for moderate level, a pair of 275 runned in mono should be close to the 2301's. Of course I could be wrong as I never compared them....
