I just received new B&W 803 D3’s and I’m using them with a McIntosh MX122 and MC207 for 2 channel music and 5 channel home theater. How much difference is a dedicated 2 channel amp (like MC462) going to make on these 803’s in stereo?

I went from a Mc205 to a Mc452 driving my old 803D2’s and the difference was not subtle. The extra current and power will be appreciated by your speakers particularly as you move up the line of B&W’s. I think you will be happy but best try an in home demo if you are able to. Good luck! |

Thanks for the info...I think I can get an in home demo of a MC452 and see what it's like.

I listened to a MC462 with 803 D3’s at my local dealer and decided to make the purchase. MC462 should be here in about a week.

Went from a mc205 (similar to mc207 less two channels) to mc601 monos and the difference was noticeable. Definaey not night and day but there is a difference when listening close.
