Ivan, I'd say it is right in line with my expectations for the price of three Reference grade components and the price they command. No complaints so far, the KT120's are even more organic and musical sounding than the 6550C's were in REF210's for sure, at least to my ears! I am happy.

Serge.......The KT120 tubes are getting a lot of good press. Your comment is a respected endorsement to me.

I installed K120 tubes in my Ref110 a while ago and was very impressed with the difference.

It's one thing if the combo had a different presentation or character than your C-1000/MCD-1100 but it's another altogether for the ARC combo to miss out or congeal that content completely. At that level I can wholeheartedly accept differences in taste but for the ARC combo to miss it completely sounds like something was wrong there.

That is why I am going back to the dealer next week to try out the disc again. We can try and compare it to another amp/cd combo in the store with the Maxx 3's, or possibly with the REF 250's to see what that sounds like.

Sorry, just saw this post. I am probably heading over to Paragon after I drop my MEN-220 at UPS. When were you thinking of going?

Jim;

I'm pretty booked this week... Could do it on Saturday. I also plan to go Thursday night to the Wilson session.

I have the Michigan game Saturday so that does not work. We can talk at the Wilson event Thursday.
