Default Shunyata

I am considering making a change to my power and had a question for some of you experts and perhaps Caelin, who have been in the Shunyata franchise for a while.

My system is below but to summarize I have basically 4 components that need pc's - 2 Mcintosh 501's, Conrad-johnson ET5, and an Allnic H3000 phono amp. I have dedicated 20 amp lines and no real power conditioning other than a mix of aftermarket pc's. No digital currently.

What should my first step be - going Denali conditioner and pc's all around?

Or - should I stick my toe in the water with a Denali and my current pc's?

Or - go with pc's and Maybe add a Denali later?

Inquiring minds are curious - I am not really missing anything in fact my system sounds better than ever. Just looking to squeeze a little more juice out and power cords/conditioners have never been a big investment for me.

Thanks,
Jerry

Hi - I am currently using Wywires Juice II on my amps and Phono Preamp and Analysis Plus Oval 14 on my preamp.

Own or have owned SR Master Couplers, Elrod Statement III's, Kubala Sosna Fascination. Have tried some others loaned by a buddy, Purist and one or two others I can't recall.

Never tried a Shunyata cord or a power conditioner other than on old Monster HTS 200.

The wywires have been the most balanced On my 501’s not adding frequency anomaly’s Like some others have. They do however add a little richness and drop the noise floor a tiny bit versus stock cords. I believe the richness is a result of a blacker background.

The AP was slated for my pioneer elite plasma but arrived after installation so I have always stuck it on the preamp with no ill effects, could probably do better.

To answer your question. Ofcourse a full loom gets you where you want to be with that particular brand.

But in your setup, maybe start with a Sigma XC from wall to the new Everest power conditioner (Denalis bigger brother, not yet released).

Then add Alpha V2 NR for the preamp and a source.
Then add Alpha V2 NR for the amps.

It's a start.

PS. Ofcourse if you are in a hurry then you get the Denali V2 instead of the upcoming Everest. DS.

Hi Keef,

Crion2's suggestion is an excellent one and would provide you with reference-level PCs and state-of-the art (SOTA) power distribution.

Some other configuations for consideration depending on your budget:

Denali : Sigma XC
Amps: Alpha NR v2
Preamp: Alpha NRv2
Phono: Alpha NRv2

Denali: Alpha XC
Amps: Alpha NR v2
Preamp: Delta NRv2
Phono: Delta NRv2

Even though you have dedicated AC lines, they still have noise on them (including AM and FM radio as RFI), so the Denali will make a big difference in lowering the noise level, and the QR/BB device in Denali brings a lot to the table in terms of 3D, holographic like imaging and "verisimilitude" to the presenation.

Thanks Guys for such detailed info! I haven't established a budget yet but don't want to get over my skis.

Right now I have my rack between my speakers but have the capability to put it on the side wall with a 5 meter cable, I switch back and forth but I think it sounds better with short IC's.

My question is do you guys plug your amps into your Denali?

My amps go straight to the wall for many years now. I would suggest Everest for that great gear or find a TRITON v3 if you can and connect the conditioner to wall with a new Sigma XC v2. I agree with the rest of the list below to balance the budget.

BTW Puma, I am also a CJ man and still own 2 CJ pre's. The ET5 is one of the best components I've ever owned.
