Default New Shunyata Ethernet Cables!

And that’s BS. Coming from a guy who worked for an Industrial Gas company. The issue that ‘solves’ is water. Most air pumps also give you water which has different properties from dry air.

Dry air and dry N2 would largely perform the same in most tire applications.

Agreed, Craig!

IIRC, correctly, all gases behave identically with respect to the Ideal Gas Law.

Also, air is what...oh, about 78.09% Nitrogen?

I remember my motorcycle racing buddies used to say to fill your race tires with N2 as it wouldn't cause an increase in tire pressure due to tire carcass heating.

Total BS.

I’m a dumb fish guy, does the increase put less surface on the track?

I think at some point it will definitely be worth trying one of the Shunyata ethernet cables.
They have been producing some outstanding digital and power cables recently.

Finally had an opportunity to borrow a Sigma and Alpha. Tested against existing WireWorld Platinum and Starlight 8. The Shunyata are much better in many different ways. Everything sounds far more realistic, impactful, focused, a lower noise floor, etc. Needless to say I put a couple Sigma's on order with my dealer.

Yup, pretty much sums up from my experience; its better in all areas. I only had Starlight Cat8 as the WW Ethernet cable, but even the Shunyata Venom Ethernet was clearly superior to it, and by quite a ways. The differences weren't small, as you say.

Visited one of my dealers (here in the UK) with a trio of Shunyata ethernet cables on Friday last week.

First of all we tried the Venom Ethernet from switch to streamer (Auralic G1) which was feeding a Musical Fidelity Nu-Vista 800, and further downstream a pair of KEF Blades.

Previously a fairly decent spec Cat 7 ethernet cable was being used.

Despite being brand new the Venom immediately impressed: more detail, more fluidity... it was literally night and day! The additional detail really struck me and was perhaps unexpected. Many in the room were surprised.

I have to confess that I have been so focussed on the Alpha and Sigma cables that I may have completely overlooked this little beauty!

Yes the Alpha and Sigmas are better but the Venom is just superb for the price, surely a no brainer in many setups. And what we also found is that it provides perfect support to a Sigma, so in the above scenario between switch and wall outlet and between server and wall outlet. The cable from switch to streamer is the most important but the others have a noticeable effect too.

Don't overlook the Venom!

Cheers,

Guillaume

Hi G,
Yes, agree completely. When I was evaluating different cables, I used the Venom in a number of different placements, from server to switch, switch to upstream FMC and even from downstream FMC to network bridge, and it worked superbly in all those positions and was considerably better than the other cables I had in for audition at the time.

I have a friend who needs 3 Ethernet cables in his configuration, and a fixed budget. Rather than spending his budget on a Venom from server to switch and Alpha from downstream FMC to network bridge, and another brand from switch to upstream FMC, he's going to use the same budget and put three Venom Ethernet cables in all three positions.
