Default My first contact with the new Diamond Series

Went to my local B&W dealer yesterday and saw that they had 805D with some classé gear up on demo. So I though about sharing some pics and a vid!

vid on youtube.

YouTube - B&W 805D with Classé

Regarding sound: I was mostly impressed with the 805D ability to reproduce bass. The tweeters were also impressive on certain tracks. I also felt that the soundstage was a little more up your face than the old series which was rather more laid back.

enjoy :P

Edit: I was told by them that in 2 weeks they are gonna have the 804D up on demo too and arrange a B&W event! I'm planning to attend to that so stay tuned for more pics and vids

looks like on your avatar that you already got a pair? How do you feel they work with the mcintosh?

I have the 805S and I have to agree with you on the bass. It's not that it goes really low, but the output is really well controlled. Other bookshelf speakers I've listened to sound flabby compared to them.

I think the dealer should have stacked even more boxes in front of the speakers for an even better audition... :confused-1:

Hi wakkz, great synergy... Warm front end; detailed sound. No regrets. I did pick up a pair of 802's recently... Awaiting placement.

Thank you for the welcome.

My setup serves as my HT also. The 805S are serving as surrounds. Up front I have 804S along with a HTM3S. A pair of JL f113's play the low notes. I have an Emotiva MPS-1 to power the B&W's and an Anthem AVM 50v to control it all. I stream all my 2 channel stuff from my server through a Squeezebox Duet and I have an Oppo BDP 83 for multichannel.

wakz,
Tak så mycket for that - i've heard great things about the new 805s. Hey, you are WAY up there in Sweden. As you may tell from my avatar, I'm more of a southern guy.
