Dan, would love to hear your impressions in a semi-controlled environment like that. I've heard both B&W and Wilson, loved both, but not in an apples-to-apples comparison.

Poobah, sounds like a plan!

I posted a review in this forum, earlier this year, detailing my impressions after listening to the 802D2 under less than ideal conditions. I just briefly listened to them again yersteday at my local dealer's showroom. They were driven by a pair of 501's, a C2300 and an MCD301 with Nordost cabling. Once again, working from memory, without having a pair of 802D's there to compare with, I thought the new speakers sounded faster, more detailed and more forward in the mids and highs. I am very impressed, but am trying to get up to DC to hear the Wilson Sophis's and Sonus Faber Amati's, before making any decisions. Ted.

I heard the same combination as you did Yard, although i don't recall if the cables were Nordost.

The new 802D are a definite improvement, especially the top end. Overall, a very good speaker although they wouldn't be my first choice.
