Even compared in the same room/system it still doesn't say what the better speaker is, because the electronics may not be the better match for a particular speaker. Ricjor, I simply re-posted an email to an audio buddy as it neatly covered my listening impressions at 100hrs. My brief passing mention of the Alexia was relevant to my audio buddy. I kept it in there because I had no idea that all the Wilson owners would have a hissy fit over it and turn the thread into another Wilson vs Magico debate. Big mistake. Yep, I wish i'd removed that now, but really that is too late. As for your advice to listen to the Alexia's in a treated room and in different setups with different amplification, yes I have done that. So can you now understand why I don't wish to further engage in debate on Wilson vs Magico having regard to the main (ie: 99%) thrust of my OP and thread title??

I'm not having a hissy fit over what you post. I sent you a PM, because I no longer feel it's valuable to get into arguments about things that are "subjective". In addition, I made it clear that I'm no longer a Wilson owner in my PM to you. After being in this hobby for over 20 years, what has always fascinated me, is how "many", not "all", audiophiles are so absolute and present information as empirical evidence that one product is better that another...when in reality it's only their opinion.

Ricjor, I recall I responded to your last PM and you decided to reply in this thread. Here's the deal, I made a brief, passing mention about Wilson Alexia's in a thread which was clearly focussed on discussing the S5's and suddenly past and present Wilson owners turned it into a big issue which in turn tanked the thread. Am I supposed to be happy about that? Really let's move on yeah?

Everybody will have pro arguments of the equipment they buy, this will never be fully objective. Too many variables : room acoustics, equipment, power supply, etc. and not in the least, state of mind when listening.

For me the most important is listening to music and forget about the equipment.

Forums like this are great, to read about the experiences of other "audiophiles". But that's it, I will not start buying equipment because other peoples experiences.

David is happy with his actual set up, and made a remark about another brand, so what !

I just looked at your profile and saw Sashas pictured. What did you move to?

There is an old saying when something is not well, you need to go back to the source of the virus...

Geez, and I thought McIntosh fans were fanatics at splitting hairs.

Ricjor...I'm about to be a former Magico owner. I'm trading them in for Shindo speakers that are about 7 times more expensive. I am certain that the Shindo's are empirically worse speakers. Yet I am also certain that the Shindo's are better speakers. So I guess I both agree and disagree with your point. This hobby is very confusing!
