I don’t get it...
It’s like we are living in a third world country. Place some porta-potties or public bathrooms for crying out loud. Europe has pay toilets. WTF??? https://www.theguardian.com/commenti...y-homelessness

Not surprising at all for a city that distributes 400,000 hypodermic syringes per month to drug users. That's 400,000 per month...and climbing.

For some residents, the problem is popping up much closer to home. Visitacion Valley resident Toni Zernik tells us her school-age son nearly stepped on a needle recently while walking near Kearny and Jackson streets. “I am sick of this,” she said. “Do we need to issue steel-sole boots?” Yeah, evidently they do need to issue steel-sole boots if they can't get a handle on the situation... |

Wait ‘till the lawsuits start when an innocent person accidentally steps on one of these needles and contracts HIV.

It's interesting, there are 7500 homeless people in San Francisco and no access to public bathrooms. Hence the mess...
I was in Moscow Russia a few years ago and Moscow is 3 times the size of New York city with a population of 12 Million. Now, of course I did not venture out all over the outskirts of Moscow but within the first ring of the center (Moscow has major roads that form rings from the center out) there was not even ONE homeless person.... I know Moscow had plenty of them at one point but god only knows what happened to them.... I'm afraid to even guess... Seriously. |

Not a comparison of Russia vs USA and I am a patriotic US citizen that was born in Soviet Union but I have to say that when the city cares about its image, its all possible.

It's the greed of the SF landlords. Always always the scummy landlords; $2500 p.m for a studio is ludicrous. If you going, to Saan Fraan cisco, be sure to beee a top industrialist. It's scarcely better here; opposite work it's £285K for a one bedroom flat in a block of flats, next to a main road or thereabouts, and around 10 miles from the city center. And no pets. Sorry tiddles. Fudge cakes to 'em.

It is astounding in SF - where one person in 10,000 is a billionaire. Pretty much any metro anywhere is better than the US system.
It is the attitude, not the wealth, that counts. As Bill Maher said - "why did we have to go straight to third world? couldn't we have paused a bit at second world?"
