It's quite a step up from my 8 year old VPI Classic. I got up this morning at 6:30 and have been playing vinyl for the last 6 hours.

I really love this TT!

Congrats Greg! I can say that Iím thrilled with my table as well. The step from my avenger to CA master innovation was huge. Enjoy!

I think a ring clamp is a must, and the Clearaudio w/ locator ring works absolutely beautifully with this table. Sound quality is superb, as you mentioned, but definitely requires a great rack/isolation.

The Universal arm also works very well with Shelter Harmony. NOT with Koetsu stones, though, sadly. But it's easy to add another arm

This is still one of the very BEST looking tables out there to my eyes; at the same time it manages to look serious, flashy, elegant, and eye-catching, without edging into gaudy aesthetics. This is a big factor for me, and is part of the reason I didn't pursue other lines for my upgrade. And I agree with you about Clearaudio being a long established company with a stable and well thought-out line. If this was some *other* company, our tables would be 5 Mk versions out of date by now!
What was your issue with the stone carts? I have a RSP and am unable to get the tail even or slightly down without shims.

Jeff

Anyone use different footers? I have stillpoints UltraSS on my Classic, anyone try them on an innovation compact?

I didn't have any issues with the VTA or setup. My issue was simply what I felt to be a sonic incompatibility. The combination of Jade and Universal 12" was dark sounding; lacking the sparkle and dynamic pop provided by the Graham Supreme pairing. However my Universal matches superbly with a Shelter Harmony (maybe there is something to the carbon-fiber matching there?).

My Universal has VTA2, but I'm surprised you're having such issues. Sounds like you need an arm-board pod of a different height (Clearaudio makes them in different heights for this reason), but the pod height initially provided should have facilitated a wide adjustment range. Also note that if you add a ring clamp and center weight, it will significantly change your necessary VTA height because these push down on the platter's magnetic suspension quite a bit.

Hey guys...I am a new owner of this TT. As of now I have the TT5 arm but more than likely going to pursue possibly trading for the universal arm.

What did you owners do for a Dust Cover to fit?

Link?

Thank you!

I say a prayer every night for the dust gods to show mercy on my Master Innovation

Also I give it a pretty good dusting (very carefully about the two mounted MC cartridges) with one of those optical/lens cloths every few weeks. Try to get in all those nooks, including between the magnetized split bottom platter.

Custom made Gingko, be prepared to spend a fair amount of money.
