While all these discussions are very suggestive, I keep thinking about getting another Inspire KT-88, large chassis with 20 watt transformers, and go the mono-block way. It is amazing that just by joining both output speaker wires you get the mono-block result! Don't need to sell what I have (and love) while doubling the power ... Would my LP-27a handle both amps the same, or its gain would maybe be challenged? Need to send Dennis a message!

In doing so, is it truly the same physical and audible result without any form of added degradation (as compared to purpose built mono block amps) is my question. For one, I'm adding "Y" splitters for interconnects, and doubling up speaker wires or jumpers, what else is not the same that might impact the sound in some way vs. true mono blocks?, etc.

I had the same doubts, but as I remember, Dennis was emphatic stating preamp splitters and joining the amps' output speaker cables would do the trick. I hope I understood that right? And what would be the difference with a "bridging" approach?
