Default Emotiva XPR-5

Looks like an inexpensive way to drive your Home Theater room. 400 watts into 8 ohms. 600 watts into 6 ohms. Reviews are strong on past Emotiva XPA amps.
Between Oppo and Emotiva you can build a respectable Home Theater system on the skinny.

---...If you don't mind no UL/SA seal of approval.

* Not sure if this new XPR series falls into the same 'destiny' as all their other products though. But I bet it does.
EDIT: It does! ...I checked earlier.

After all, it's your home, your family, and things that you are protecting...

That's odd... isn't a safety check/mark a prerequisite for selling stuff in the US?

They save money that way. ...And I just don't know how they do it!
Remember too, they are an online (Internet) company only.

* And because they sell their products in Europe as well; they are in obligation to have the CE label on the back. But Europe's regulations are different than America (Canada, USA, Central America, South America).

** In Australia, I don't know what you guys get there; probably CE as well, but I'm not 100% sure.

Anyway, most people don't know about this, and others just don't care; as long as they can save money!
And protection (for your home, family), and things having the chance of getting on fire, is secondary!

With everything in life, think twice!

We have A Ticks and C Ticks in Australia.

Used to do product development so CE UL FCC stuff were all par for the course for approvals before we could sell our gear in these countries.

I keep and play, my Emotiva system in my fireplace. I use a 3ft poker to turn it on and off.

They had a fire-clearance sale, that I could not resist.

While not UL Listed they are CE Listed. In the end I see not big difference, but like most things in life to each his own..................

Is McIntosh UL listed?

Is Emotiva making "unsafe" devices or do they just not have the Seal?
2 different questions.
