I heard this guy was pretty good. I should have bought from someone like him really instead of the idiot I bought them from (long story.)

Haha, well basically he's a local home theater installer with no store front or what have you, he works out of a little office in an industrial park. He's just an order taker with no customer service or technical knowledge. He rushed me into buying saying that the good price he quoted me was gonna end. Then when I sent him the money, you couldn't get a hold of him, and he had no clue where the speakers were until the last minute. What really grinds my gears is that the JBL rep for all of North America recommended this fool to me.

Now that you're thoroughly bored, you're welcome! lol.

Not bored at all. Interesting story! The upside is that you got a great pair of speakers into your home faster than expected! Thanks Dave!

Hey Dave,

I have a pair of S3900s coming in a week or so. I would have liked the S4700s but they are too big for my space (9'x11'). I will be pairing them with my Accuphase E-560. I will let you know how they sound once they arrive.

Pretty cool! Congrats! Yeah, that's a great speaker nevertheless. And you've got a great amp (I like Accuphase a lot in case you don't know) to drive them, so I'm willing to bet you'll like them. Then again, you might not, and the only thing to remedy that is break in. Anyway, sounds good, I appreciate that. I'll be around...

Matt.......I will be looking forward to reading your impressions of the JBL S3900 speakers. They are very attractive and have some fine drivers and crossovers. The S3900's should sound fantastic with your Accuphase E-560. Don't forget how much we like photos.

just curious if the room was the right size for the speaker as in wider and bigger for the everest and narrower for say the 4700. How would you list the jbl models best sound first.

Just like to know which JBLs you think are best say for rock and blues.

Thanks Dan. I am looking forward to their arrival. I went back and forth between the Array 1400 and the S3900 but decided the S3900 is probably best for my room. I also located a gently used pair in outstanding condition, so I was able to save some money in the process. I will start a new thread once they arrive and will post lots of pictures along the way. Cheers!
