Oh yeah

Mine had the pallet and the shrink wrap and the cables cinched to the pallet. Then the three nested boxes. Wow, Esoteric knows how to pack and ship.

That lift-out satchel thing is ingenious.

Dan - I have another quick question and you are the expert.

For SACDs the settings on the up sampling and filter seem to be disabled. I read the manual and it says that for SACD, the DSD signal is sent directly to the DA converter and then to a dedicated DSD filter.

For red book CDs I hear the clicking when changing settings so it's working for non-SACDs

Am I missing something making adjustments for SACDs?

Yeah. Go us! Thanks, Haydn.

This thing is a beautiful, complex machine. It'll take me a couple of days to figure it out. I just sent Dan another question on the settings.

Carlos.......From what I have been able to figure out there is no upsampling of the DSD signal for an SACD disc. The upconversion and digital filter features apply only to redbook CD playback.

Thanks for the confirmation, Dan. For a minute I thought something was wrong with my player until I read the manual more carefully.

I'm surprised I had not noticed the lack of SACD setting flexibility in the forums. Anyway, it's all good and the player sounds very good out of the box. Looking forward to its progression through the burn-in process.

Carlos.......The K-03 will just get sweeter as the hours log up. I can't wait to spin discs in my players everyday. When your not listening to music just put in the break-in disc, press play and use the remote to set it to repeat disc. Turn the rest of the system off. You'll gain some break-in hours in between your musical enjoyment time.

Definitely. Thanks, Dan. I already have the enclosed burn-in CD ready to go after I call it a night. I appreciate your walking me through it. It's almost like you are the on-call Esoteric customer representative assigned to AA. We are lucky to have you.
